Do you think about political unrest, Tsunami’s and so forth when you travel?

Hello Bronwyn here.

I was sitting here wondering if we are becoming immune to what is going on around the world when it comes to travel plans.  Fiji, Bali and the Pacific Islands all spring to mind with political unrest, terrorism, and Tsunami’s.  These things have impacted the local tourism industries of these popular destinations for Australians, but people are still going there.

I would be really interested in your thoughts on this topic - does it impact your decision to take up some of the fantastic deals and offers to these places?  Are we willing to take more risks these days in our travel because these things are becoming more common and closer to home?
