Hello singles
I have met so many people over 50, single and desperately want to travel which is why I really wanted to dedicate some space to over 50’s single travellers on this site.  I’m really interested i n what you have to say.  Do you think you would come here to meet someone going to the same destination?  Or is that a bit weird?  Or perhaps you would just give each other tips on travelling single.  I would love some honest feedback.

Yes, I would like to meet up with another lady who wants to travel.

I am an active 67, married and retired, but my husband does not want to travel as much as I do.

This year my overseas trips have been China - the Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin, Sth American 14 day cruise (with my husband), plus some extra time in Buenos Aires, Iguazzu Falls (brilliant) and Rio de Janeiro, 22 day tour of China, and these last two with my husband - 16 days in Bali and a very fast 12 day tour of the East Coast of the US and Canada.

I have also done some short trips in Australia this year.

All my trips are/have been great deals or specials that have been too good to refuse!

I am interested in doing a 28 day tour of India next Autumn (both tour companies will match singles if they can) and have booked on a Eurpoean River cruise - no single supplement deal in July.

To Sandifran,
I would like to travel with a compatible companion.  I was 70 in May as I have no
family I am free to go wherever/whenever.  My idea of travel is a tour if I cannot
find another option(friend) to accompany me...but my preference is to want to
spend more time in some places, and not many tours offer this.  I research an area
I wish to see eg Laos. I use Trip Advisor advice on accom.  prefer to stay in local
accom. with own ensuite.....not Sheratons. and use various means of safe transport
usually with a guide to accompany me....travel in their best season, where poss. outside
school hols. I found a local Co. I wanted to use. chose my itinerary and accom. at the
end of 2009, but the cost for one person I considered too prohibitive, so that is
still on the agenda.  This way I am able to stay longer in an area I like, I have more
flexibility rather than having to move on...for me I often think it is the people I
meet who make my journey memorable.  While I enjoy adventure and like to find
places with less tourists, I do not take risks.  I have been to most places u mention
and will go to India in a month to an Ayurveda Clinic for a month....arranging this now.  After that I am open to suggestions. Pls. letme know if interested..I like scenery, good food, markets, galleries, crafts, cooking easy to please at a slow pace., a G&T;, Beer,wine....not a compulsive shopper...very little I need but I do buy something special as a reminder.
Perhaps we shall meet?  happy travels, megg
